  classic pub meals, average tasting but large amounts. The servers were rude and had the attitude of them not wanting to be there and had sour looks on their faces. Was told our meal was gluten free, however it turned out to be filled with gluten (not great for a person with allergies).

  This place was wonderful a couple of years back and we went there regularly to eat. Since there is a new 'chef' , the food is simply terrible. We went there for a low key anniversary dinner in January 2012 and I ordered quail for a change. it arrived Luke warm. The tiny bird was hard as a rock and the potatoes underneath were frozen! It seems the whole meal had been frozen on the plate and heated in the microwave. I've been back there since once only, with a work group for lunch and the meal was just not appetising. Kick out the cook and we'll be back. Beside the food issue, it's a lovely little tavern and the staff are friendly and helpful.
